The Rock 22 hour Overnight Cruise at the Bay of Islands

The Rock Boat Adventure Cruise departs Paihia port at 5 pm, enjoy a 22 hr cruise overnight out to the Bay of Islands. Our local activities start with Target Shooting followed by Dusk Fishing once anchored to our choice of location at the Bay of Islands. A freshly caught snapper or kawhai is a nice addition to our delicious dinner buffet (subject to guest's fishing ability, of course!). Go on night kayaking & observe the natural water bioluminescence or phosphorescence. You may also indulge and take a night swim before you relax by our fireplace.

Day 2: Sunrise at sea is spectacular! Breakfast bell rings at 8 am, then haul anchor and get underway for an exploration of the Bay of Islands. Wake up early enough for a quick wake-up swim with The Rock crew! Another day of Kayaking, snorkelling, picking up fresh seafood such as mussels or sea urchin (Kina), depending on Bay of Island weather conditions. Relax at remote beaches with a game of cricket or volleyball before we head back to Pahia.

The Rock 6 hour Day Cruise at the Bay of Islands

Departure at 8 am from Paihia port by our sea shuttle to take you to a quiet bay in the Bay of Islands where The Rock Boat has been anchored overnight. Safety briefing commences upon arrival then we get underway for a day cruise in the Bay of Islands. On top of our to-do things are; kayaking, snorkelling, gathering fresh seafood and island trekking.

If conditions allow, we'll gather mussels from the kelp-covered outer reefs to enjoy on the way home (along with the unique experience of eating sea urchins raw if you're brave enough). You will have time to enjoy the remote beaches - perfect for a game of beach cricket or volleyball. On the homeward cruise, we'll enjoy those mussels, freshly steamed, and watch out for the abundant local marine and birdlife...hopefully, we'll see penguins, dolphins or orcas at the Bay of Islands! We arrive back at Paihia wharf at 2-3pm.
