Hi there! We are the Kung Fu Academy NZ. We provide a wide variety of martial arts services, in a fun, friendly and family oriented environment. Our goal is to help you achieve your goals, by providing you with world class training and instruction.
People often ask, what does Kung Fu mean? Kung Fu 功夫 means skill or discipline achieved through hard work and practice, not necessarily Martial Arts (or Wǔshù 武術 in Chinese). So what does that mean? For us, it means we have no limits in what we can provide to you. We learn, practice and teach fundamental skills which contribute to a healthier body, mind and spirit. We then put these skills into practice to teach a fluid, easy to understand system that enhances your training experience.
What do you provide?
We provide a number of training options that are designed to get the best performance out of you, and entertainment options that provide you with a fun, unique experience. Some of the things we do are:
- Regular martial arts classes for kids aged 5 - 12.
- Regular martial arts classes for teens aged 13-17.
- Regular martial arts classes for adults aged 18+.
- School holiday programme activities.
- Martial arts themed birthday parties.
- Self Defence sessions.
- Combat courses; and much more.
Where are you located?
We are predominantly in the Manawatu area - with two regular academies, the main centre in Palmerston North is located at 38 Kipling Street, and our Rangitikei centre is located in Bulls, at 1 Clifton Street.
How much do you cost?
We offer a free trial class - the first one is on us. From there on, our standard rates are $8.00 per session for kids martial arts classes and $10.00 per session for teens and adults. A full list of our pricing can be found on our website.
How do I sign up?
Simply head over to our website and click on the JOIN NOW button on the front page, call us, or come in 5 minutes before one of our classes and sign up. It's very easy.
Okay, cool, when are your classes?
Our classes in Palmerston North are every Monday and Thursday from 5.30pm - 6.30pm for kids, and 6.30pm - 8pm for teens and adults.
Our classes in Marton are every Wednesday from 6.30pm - 7.30pm and every Saturday from 10.30am - 11.30am.
